I’ve made my way to the blog…

Joseph Haughey here, testing to see if I have actually made it onto the blog, and hoping so.

It was a fantastic meeting this afternoon and I look forward to conversing with everybody in the SIG in the near future!

Repositories of digital storytelling examples

I would be interested in getting online examples of digital stories that others use as exemplars in their courses. Particularly I am interested in digital stories created by early childhood students (k-2) and upper elementary age students (3-6 grade).

Below are a few that I have found online. (Read the article)

English Education SIG Invitation

Greetings!  My name is Carl Young, and I am the new Chair of the English Education Special Interest Group (SIG) here at SITE.  I’d like to invite any of you who might be interested to participate in the English Education SIG.  This year’s SIG meeting is scheduled for today–Friday, March 30–from 11:45 to 12:45, in the San Antonio Ballroom.  I hope that you can make it!   Feel free to bring your lunch.  I will have a brief agenda, but I also invite you to bring any ideas you have to share that might inform and further shape the agenda, including future endeavors we might pursue together.

One of the topics of discussion I would like to consider together is the current trends in research and practice in English Education and technology—what these are and the direction you see our field going with respect to these trends, along with a discussion of what current research articles and projects are informing and shaping English Education with respect to these trends.  If you could bring ideas to share on this topic and/or others, that would be great.  I look forward to meeting you and collaborating soon!

Special Education SIG

Greetings, everyone,

Hope that you are having a good conference. I am the chair of the special education SIG.  I teach at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where I teach special education, special education technology, and occasionally moonlight at teaching the general education technology class where I always manage to recruit one or two more to the special education field.

Tomorrow the special education SIG meets at 12:00. We will be looking for a VP at the meeting tomorrow.
